Basic Scales.

This is Beginner Scale lessons which cover the Major & The Minor Scale in 12 keys.
These type of scales are based on the Basic notes "Unaltered" C D E F G A B.
Unaltered notes mean "there is no accidentals such as sharp or flat".

Basic scales are built by a series of "Half and Whole steps" base on the scale type formulas.

The tem: Scale steps - is al so known as Scale Degrees. 

Major scale Forula is: There is an half step occur between steps 3rd & 4th and between steps 7th & 8th.

The C major scale is the mother of all scale. Other type of scales and modes are created from this scale.
It has no sharp or flat. All seven natural tones.

The eleven remaining keys " C# or Db - D - D# or Eb - E - F - F# or Gb - G - G# or Ab - A - A# or Bb ".
They are produce by applied these half steps but with the use of accidentals to be complied with the Major scale fomula.



Minor scale Formula is: There is an Half step occur between steps 2nd & 3rd and between steps 5th & 6th.


The A Minor scale is a special scale also. It also know as The Natural Minor - Pure Minor - Relative Minor.
It also share the same special with the C major ( It has no accidentals - No sharp or Flat - All seven Natural tones ).
